"The Chalk Line" is a down east type comedy with a country store and local post office. The play surrounds town old time country folk and one of the man's charming daughter. There is practically not plot other than the daughter turns out to be adopted and is found to be other man's child. A chalk line is then drawn in the middle of the store as a dead line. The play depends on humour and pathos.
