A burglar and his assistant attempt to rob a luxuriously appointed drawing room, and a woman comes in towards the middle where she has a burlesque talk with the burglar.
It was used to close the bill, an indication that the manager saw it in high esteem. This was, by the way, enthusiastically endorsed by the Greenpoint audience Tuesday evening.
The humor was a bit "fine" for the audience, but before a "wise" gathering it will be a comedy riot.
No keener travesty on the stilted methods of highly dramatic sketch interpreters could be devised than this.
The burlesque talk is screamingly funny and is a skillful satire on all stilted, stagey tall acting.
