This sketch entitled “First Love” was twenty-four minutes long.
Lulu Glaser plays a woman who is betrothed to a solider-tenor who she has never met. She dresses as a maid in order to find out his true nature. They get along well. Thomas D. Richards plays the soldier-tenor and sings a few numbers in a red and gold uniform. Glaser wears a black maid’s uniform and a pretty pink gown.
"The Orpheum audience accepted the piece in a dignified manner, evincing their liking for the star without any great demonstration."
The sketch is a typical musical comedy.
