“Joshua Whitcomb.” 19 min., open in one, cl. F.S. Big advance applause. This set fulfilled all out expectations, being not only cleverly constructed and full of contrast in humor and pathos, but presented in a characteristic manner as everybody expected Denman Thompson would do. Held the interest of the audience right up to the pathetic finish, and I daresay there was not a dry eye at the close. Received several curtain calls, and feel perfectly confident that he will draw very strong for these two weeks.
