They work in blackface, Lillie Mills using a light brown makeup and singing in a somewhat high and shrill voice. Lida Morris is the end “man,” having comedy capabilities she fails to fully bring out.
These girls on Wednesday evening were given the heartiest applause at the close that has been received by any opening act seen this season.
With the advantage of good dancing, the girls ought to raise themselves to an important position in the first-class houses and with some thoughtful attention given to their needs will do so.
