Hardman received applause for his parody of The Grand Old Flag.
As long as Hardman remains on the small time route, he will pass swimmingly, but reaching the bigger house, he would be shorn of much of his material, and scored for lack of originality.
He showed originality upon making a laughing allusion to the Adams Express Company.
