The Germans in the audience strongly applauded the singing of Kelly in German.
Whatever liveliness there is in "The Queen of Bohemia" arrives during the last half hour of the performance. It isn't every audience which would wait that long. Some might not even linger through the first act of the two section play written around that title.
The first act knocks the action helter skelter.
The number lack action.
